Ventec | VOCSN Ventilator

Ventec Life Systems portable multi-function ventilator is designed to make life easier for patients and their caregivers. One critical replaceable component, responsible for generating onboard oxygen, is the RMB media cartridge. The existing system required users to send their VOCSN ventilator back to Ventec to be serviced periodically. To improve the ventilator's ease of use mission, my team partnered with Ventec to develop an error proof, user replaceable RMB media cartridge, while minimizing impact to the existing ventilator architecture. Utilizing a user-centric design approach, my team created interaction mock-ups and conducted formative user testing to inform and refine our designs, ultimately delivering an improved VOCSN ventilator design that improves quality of life, reduces ownership and refurbishment cost.
