Precor | 500 Treadmill Line

Precor fitness brought in my design team to accelerate their industrial design process and deliver a manufacturable treadmill design ready for functional prototyping and design for manufacture. Working at the direction of the Precor ID team over three weeks we were able to successfully deliver CAD surface models and keep the program on time for the quarter.

The Precor 500 Treadmill line is compact, value oriented, and lighter duty. The new visual brand language and user experience had to maintain Precor’s durability, aesthetics, and quality yet be perceived as lower cost and visually differentiated from Precor’s higher end lines. Taking advantage of a new vendor capability to bend large racetrack extrusions we were able create a strong, minimalist aesthetic desired by the client. The detail design work to make the transitions appear seamless is where my team applied their talent. The result was a successful launch of the 500 Treadmill Line targeted at multi-family housing, corporate wellness centers, and hotels.
